How long does the registration process take? +
The complete process usually takes 6 to 12 months. MPD manages everything: filing, Official Gazette publication, the opposition period (45 days) and INAPI substantive examination.
What types of trademarks can I register? +
You can register word marks, combined marks, figurative marks, sound marks and advertising slogans, as well as product and service marks across any of the 45 Nice classes.
Can I register my trademark abroad? +
Yes. MPD manages international filings through WIPO’s Madrid System, which allows protection in more than 50 countries with one application. We can also file directly in the USA (USPTO), Europe (EUIPO) and other territories.
What does the registration guarantee mean? +
MPD offers a unique registration guarantee in the Chilean market: you pay an initial fee when the process begins and the final installment only when your trademark is registered. If registration fails due to causes attributable to our management, we will not charge the final installment.
